This winter, Left bank Melbourne jumped on the truffle ban wagon, participating in the growing Melbourne Truffle festival!
The Festival is held every winter at Queen Vic Market and offers Melbournians the opportunity to dive into the wonderful world of truffles, tasting all sorts of truffle dishes and truffle beverages. There were live cooking demonstrations by Melbourne chefs and of course, a crowd favourite, the chance to meet the truffle hunters themselves…. The dogs!
The Festival is the largest truffle festival in the world, outside of Europe.
We joined a number of big names such as Kimu, The craft and Co and Fatto Bar & Cantina to present a carefully curated truffle menu.
What we had on offer:
Tagliattelle, mascarpone creme, garden peas, shaved black truffle, yarra valley pine mushrooms. Vego
Venison & Oakridge Pinot pie , w shallots, roasted chesnut & Black truffle
Pistacchio Venetian Salumi w Artichoke & Gorgonzola paste, arugula, black truffle squacarone
Polenta fries w rosemary salt, black garlic aioli, shaved black truffle pecorino Vego, Gluten Free
If you missed it this year, lock the dates in your calendar for next year! It is an event not to be missed!
