Self-isolation and social distancing laws have put a little bit of a damper on Mother’s Day celebrations this year. BUT that doesn’t mean that you can’t share something special with your mum this Mother’s Day.
Here are six great ways to celebrate Mother’s Day this year!
Online cooking class
For the mums that love cooking up a storm in the kitchen or discovering new recipes and cooking skills, an online cooking class together is a perfect gift! You can pre-order the ingredients needed to make the recipe and watch an online class together and try making a delicious meal to virtually share.
Send a video
Nothing makes mum happier than a pre-recorded video wishing her a happy Mother’s Day. Let’s face it, all she really wants for Mother’s Day is some time spent with you, so, if you aren’t able to see her this Mother’s Day, a video is the next best thing. It also means that she can keep this special message for a rainy day when she needs a little pick me up.
Facetime- have a house party wine together
If you are looking for a fun casual activity to do together, try a house party wine together. Nothing beats a good old gas bag with your mum! For an added activity, you could also try virtual trivia game for a few extra laughs.
Window visits – drop off a cooked meal
If your mum lives close by and you are able to do a quick drive by, why not toot your horn or drop off a small gift to her door. You might like to drop over some flowers, a home cooked meal or just a hand written note is just as meaningful.
Try a virtual workout class together
If you’re a fitness freak, first of all hats off to you! Second of all, why not incorporate your daily work out this Mother’s Day? There are plenty of online yoga classes that you can log in and do together or you could run a class of your own if you’re an absolute expert in this area! We will probably stick with the wine….
Order a meal and have it delivered to her
Due to isolation, there are many of your favourite local restaurants and venues that are offering scrumptious take-home menus. Why not support the hospitality industry while spoiling your mum on this special day! Take it one step further a host a virtual dinner party together.
Remember, you know your mum best. Think about the things that she loves doing and try and incorporate a gift or gesture that will make her feel extra special this year.
